Responsibility details are not available.
An accessory set replacing the landing gear wheels of a kit of the Soviet supersonic Tu-22 bomber, known by the NATO code name Blinder. It is not an airplane model: it is a detail set for improving one.
The Tu-22 was the first Soviet supersonic bomber taken into service, recognizable by its pair of engines set unusually at the sides of the vertical tail. From the start of the 1960s it served in bomber, reconnaissance and anti-ship roles, and some of the aircraft also reached foreign operators. The heavy machine stood on main landing gear with four-wheel bogies, whose many-spoked hubs are a rewarding detail on a model, and it is exactly that which a resin casting renders better than split plastic parts.
Separate the wheels from the casting blocks with a fine saw, level the cut with sandpaper and seat the parts on the bogies with cyanoacrylate glue. Painting is most convenient while they are still on the block: first the whole in the color of the hubs, then the tires in dark gray around the circumference. A drop of dark wash around the centers of the wheels underlines the depth. On a bomber in 1:144 scale it is a quick afternoon's work with a very visible result.
An accessory set: the base model of the aircraft is not included in the package.
