A kit of a miniature deck tractor in 1:144 scale from the Czech manufacturer Brengun. It is a small model cast in resin, which suits above all as an addition to a scene around aircraft and aircraft carriers. The number of parts and the dimensions are given on the packaging of the kit.
Deck tractors serve on aircraft carriers and airfields for moving aircraft about the deck, for pushing them into the hangar and for towing them to the elevators. The Clarkat type B is a low four-wheeled tractor with an open driver's position; the low build height was a condition for working under the fuselages and wings of parked machines, where an ordinary vehicle cannot reach. The manufacturer designates the type throughout its line as British, that is according to the service in which it was used.
Wash the mold release residue off the resin parts, cut the casting blocks off with a saw and level the surfaces with a file, not with nippers. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). In 1:144 scale it pays to work with tweezers and to dose the glue with an applicator needle, otherwise the joint will flood the detail. Apply a primer before painting; a small model will take an airbrush as well as a good brush. Distinguishing the tractor in color from the deck and light weathering with dust and oil stains will bring the result to life markedly.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
