This metal detail set from the Polish maker Aber in 1:16 scale holds turned and photo-etched parts representing high-explosive 8.8 cm shells together with a transport crate. It is not a model but an accessory meant to bring the interior or a diorama to life on large models of the Tiger I tank.
The 8.8 cm KwK 36 L/56 gun of the Tiger I used fixed rounds with several types of projectile; the high-explosive shell (Sprenggranate) served against targets in the open and lightly fortified positions. The rounds were carried in the vehicle in wooden and sheet metal crates, which this set also covers.
