1:16 Arabic Girls / Teenagers (3 Fig.)

Arabic Girls, a set of three figures in 1:16 (MAiM)

This set of three civilian figures from MAiM portrays girls, or rather teenagers. Three is a rewarding number for building a scene: two figures in conversation and a third a little way off create an immediately readable situation. At the same time the large 1:16 scale lets the details of each of them stand out.

Use in a diorama

The little group suits everyday civilian subjects: the walk home from school, standing around by a shop, a yard or a street. It is exactly these knots of figures that turn scenery into a town, and the set lets you place the figures so that they communicate with one another, which gives a scene an internal story. They can be combined with other civilian figures from MAiM and with vehicles in 1:16 scale.

Painting tips

Clean the castings up, wash them and give them a primer. With three figures it is worth harmonizing the palette: give each figure a different main tone of clothing, but repeat a neighbor's color in the details, and the group will then look of a piece. Support the folds of the clothing with a wash, shade the skin and the faces with oil paints and even everything out with a matte clear coat at the end.
