Aber – an early muzzle brake for the German 8.8 cm barrel, the early Tiger I and the Tiger II (Porsche turret) (1:16) is a turned metal replacement for the muzzle brake for a faithful detail on a model.
Responsibility details are not available.
This turned metal muzzle brake from the Polish maker Aber in 1:16 scale replaces the plastic muzzle brake on a barrel of 8.8 cm caliber. The early form matches the Tiger I tank in the early form and the Tiger II tank with the Porsche turret. It is not a model but a detail accessory with faithfully made ports and profile.
The muzzle brake damped the recoil of the gun of 8.8 cm caliber and is a conspicuous element at the end of the barrel. The early and the late forms differ in the shape and the arrangement of the ports, which is why telling them apart faithfully matters to a collector.
Separate the metal part and fit it onto the barrel with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). The turned version gives an accurate profile and clean ports. Degrease the metal, apply a primer and a matte metal paint with the staining left by propellant gases.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package.
