A large plastic kit of the American M16 Multiple Gun Motor Carriage self-propelled anti-aircraft half-track in the impressive scale of 1:16 from Trumpeter. It is a more demanding multimedia kit, which besides injection-molded plastic holds photo-etched parts and metal items for the greatest possible fidelity. The sizeable model will be appreciated by advanced modelers and collectors who want to display a representative piece of equipment.
The M16 was an American anti-aircraft half-track built on the proven chassis of the M3 half-track carrier. In a rotating mount it carried four coupled 12.7 mm machine guns, thanks to which it could put down dense fire against low-flying aircraft and ground targets alike. It was committed in the Second World War and in the Korean War, and it earned a nickname from its destructive firepower.
Given the size and the number of parts, this is a build for several evenings; finish the running gear and the engine compartment before closing the hull. Glue the metal and photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue, and the plastic parts with thin cement for plastic. Lay the base on with an airbrush, and for weathering use washes into the recesses, dry-brushing on the edges and dust pigments on the running gear and the fenders.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
