Five heads of tank crewmen of the fictional Schwabenland Army from the retro science fiction Front46 series, in which the manufacturer MAiM develops an alternative world of its own full of mechs, bunkers and unusual figures. The heads are intended for figures in 1:16 scale and are supplied as unpainted castings to be cleaned up and painted.
A crew is what makes a vehicle alive, and this is exactly where the set excels. Five different heads let you crew the hatches of the mechs or armored vehicles of the Front46 series easily, or individualize tank crew figures in subjects of your own. A figure leaning out with a distinctive face draws a viewer's attention more reliably than any technical detail, and combining several heads in one scene also avoids the look of identical twins that often spoils production figures.
Wash the castings, clean them up and prime them. Build the skin from acrylic layers, from a shadow base up to the highlights, and soften the transitions with oil glazes. On tank crewmen it is worth emphasizing the grime, and a fine dark pigment around the eyes and on the forehead will suggest work inside a closed machine. Match details such as headphones or hoods, depending on how the heads are rendered, to the colors of the rest of the figure.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
