A photo-etched set, Tiger II – engine deck grilles (Vol.2A), in 1:16 scale from Aber. Fine metal grilles replace the plastic covers of the ventilation openings at the rear of a Tiger II tank model.
Responsibility details are not available.
This photo-etched detail set from the Polish maker Aber in 1:16 scale holds the fine grilles of the engine and cooling compartment of a Tiger II heavy tank model. Fine photo-etched mesh replaces the coarser plastic covers and markedly raises the realism of the rear deck plate. It is not a model but an accessory.
The Königstiger (Tiger II) was a German heavy tank of the Second World War armed with the 8.8 cm KwK 43 L/71 gun and protected by heavy sloped armor. On the rear of the hull it had an extensive set of cooling and ventilation openings covered by steel grilles, which make a striking element on a large model.
The set will be appreciated by builders of large Tiger II models who want realistic grilles at the rear. Working with fine photo-etched mesh calls for patience and suits more experienced modelers.
This is a detail accessory, not a standalone model. Paints and glue are not included in the package.
