Aviattic 1:24 four-color lozenge pattern for upper surfaces (factory fresh) — a full-width decal sheet with the German camouflage of aircraft fabric from the First World War in rich factory shades.
Responsibility details are not available.
A decal sheet from Aviattic, a specialist in the aircraft of the First World War. It carries the four-color lozenge pattern in the factory fresh version — that is in rich factory shades — made for the upper flying surfaces of models in 1:24 scale. The sheet is printed in the full width of the pattern, so continuous strips can be cut from it as from a real roll of fabric.
During the First World War the German air service looked for a way to camouflage its machines without heavy layers of paint. The answer was a polygon pattern printed directly onto aircraft fabric: irregular colored polygons broke up the outline of an aircraft both over the ground and against the sky, and printing also saved weight and expensive pigments. The four-color variant was among the most widespread; darker, richer tones were used for the upper surfaces — exactly the ones this sheet captures.
Prepare the surface of the model to a smooth gloss and follow the manufacturer's instructions on the base shade. Cut the strips with a sharp blade along a steel ruler, lay them down gradually and let them flow around the ribs with the help of a softener. Once thoroughly dry, even the whole out with a matte or semi-matte coat.
This is a decal sheet — the model, varnish and other accessories are not included in the package.
