A set of masks for the large-scale Dora. The cockpit canopy is masked from both sides of the clear part, and three sets of national insignia go with it. The code series adds turned metal barrels to the masks.

The Focke-Wulf Fw 190D-9 came about by converting the radial-engined fighter to the inverted V12 Jumo 213A. The radiator stayed at the front in an annular cowling, so the nose only grew longer, and to get the center of gravity right the fuselage behind the cockpit received an inserted plug. The machines reached the units from the autumn of 1944; the best known served with JG 26 and JG 54, and some of them covered the takeoffs and landings of the jet Messerschmitts, when those were at their most vulnerable. The armament consisted of a pair of machine guns above the engine and two 20 mm cannons in the wing roots.
The package carries a canopy mask in two versions, one for the outer and the other for the inner side of the clear part, plus three sets of national insignia masks. The series the code belongs to complements the masking with turned metal parts for the weapons.
The procedure is short and irreversible, so it pays not to hurry. Cut the plastic stub off as close to the cowling as possible, level the surface with a file and drill a hole in the resulting spot to the diameter of the shank of the metal part. Drill by hand in a holder, not with a power drill; a fine bit bites easily into plastic and snaps. Try the part dry, check how far it protrudes and whether it sits in line with the axis of the fuselage, and only then fix it with a drop of cyanoacrylate. Polystyrene cements do not work here; they have nothing to dissolve in metal.
Fit the metal parts only after the whole part has been sanded and painted. You will save yourself sanding paint off a polished surface.
