This sheet from ETA diorama is printed paper for scenes in 1:24 scale. It holds no plastic parts and no decals. The motifs are period posters intended for scenes for adult collectors. The typical place of use is the wall of a garage, a workshop, a service station or a store, that is the setting in which an ordinary modeling project in 1:24 scale most often takes place.
The 1:24 scale is generous and at this size the viewer reads even small things, so a poster on the wall will not go unnoticed. Place it where a real user of the workshop would hang it: above the workbench, next to the tool cabinet, on the door. A glued poster does not have to be aligned with the edge of the wall and may well sit crooked. Several motifs side by side, with varying degrees of wear, look better than one large clean one.
Cut with a new blade along a metal rule. On render, wood and a plastic wall alike, PVA glue applied with a brush in a thin layer proves itself; once pressed down, the paper follows the texture of the undercoat. Instead of gluing, the corners can be suggested as held by thumbtacks – a dot of paint applied with the tip of a toothpick is amply enough. So that the poster does not look fresh from the printer, mute the surface with a very thin wash, sand the edges and round the corners off. Matte clear coat at the end unifies the surface and removes the paper sheen. In a workshop scene, oil stains on the floor, tools and figures of mechanics complete it all.
