Pylons and missile launchers for the Northrop F-5E Tiger II in 1:48 scale from the brand Aires – a resin set for completing the underwing armament.
Responsibility details are not available.
This resin Aires set refines the underwing armament of the American Northrop F-5E Tiger II light fighter in 1:48 scale. It deals with the pylons and the launchers for guided missiles, that is the elements that tend to be simplified in an injection mold. The aircraft itself is not included; it is purely an accessory to an existing model.
The F-5E Tiger II came about at the turn of the 1960s and 1970s as a cheap and easily maintained supersonic fighter for the allies of the United States. It is powered by two General Electric J85 turbojets and the machine became famous for its exceptional agility in horizontal maneuvering. That is exactly why it is still used today for training in the role of a simulated adversary. Several dozen states have had it or still have it in service.
First wash the castings in lukewarm soapy water so that no traces of mold release agent are left on the surface. Cut the casting blocks off with a fine-toothed saw, not with side cutters, and level the surfaces with sandpaper – protect your airways while sanding. The joints are held by cyanoacrylate glue; ordinary plastic cement will not join resin. A coat of primer pays off before painting.
