This item is not a model of a car. It is a plastic set of diorama accessories in 1:24 scale, specifically the road signs typical of mountain roads and hairpin bends. It serves to keep a finished model of a car from lying on a bare board and to stand it in surroundings that say something about it. The maker is the Japanese company Fujimi, which issues accessories of this kind as a complete range alongside tools and garage equipment.
A diorama, or even a simple display board, changes the effect of a model more than anything else. A road sign by the shoulder immediately establishes where the scene takes place and how fast one drives there, and at the same time it adds a vertical element that breaks up a flat composition. A mountain route is a particularly rewarding setting for models of sports and modified cars. These are signs in 1:24 scale; the exact composition of the set and the number of elements are given on the package.
Cut the parts off with nippers and sand the gate remains down, because on thin posts every stub shows. The signs look best when the face of the plate is really smooth and evenly sprayed - priming and spraying pay off rather than brush painting. Handle the graphics on the signs with a decal or a mask; if decals are part of the package, lay them onto a glossy base. At the end, weather the accessories lightly with a dark wash and a fine dust pigment at the foot of the post, so that they do not look freshly unpacked from a box.
This is an accessory for a diorama, not a model of a vehicle. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted; paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
