1:24 Road sign set for city area is a diorama accessory in 1:24 scale from the Japanese brand Fujimi: a set of road signs and city signage for a scene to go with car models.
Responsibility details are not available.
A diorama accessory from the garage and workshop equipment range of the Japanese brand Fujimi. The set contains road signage for an urban setting in 1:24 scale, that is in the scale in which car models are commonly built. It is not a model of a vehicle but a backdrop that gives a finished car a setting and a sense of scale. The exact number of signs, their types and their dimensions are stated on the box and in the instructions.
A model car standing on its own in a cabinet often reads as an exhibit without context. As soon as a piece of sidewalk, a post with a sign or a set of traffic lights appears around it, the viewer immediately reads both the size and the setting, and a photograph of the model looks completely different. City signage is also rewarding because it takes up little room and can be used in a small so-called vignette a few centimeters across. The set suits building street scenes, parking lots and gas stations, as well as simple bases under a single car.
It pays to paint the sign posts separately and to fit them at the very end. Metal posts are rarely gleaming clean in reality, so a light wash and a suggestion of dust at the foot add markedly to the credibility. Keep the faces of the signs matte or only gently satin, so that they do not reflect light in a photograph. If the set contains printing or decals, settle them onto a smooth gloss surface and then seal them with a matte coat. The base board for the scene is not part of the set, so prepare a base of your own.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. It is not a model of a vehicle, and a base, glue and paints are not included in the package.
