An injection-molded plastic kit from the Japanese manufacturer Aoshima from The Model Car range represents the luxury Toyota Crown sedan in the sporting Athlete G trim, type designations GRS214 and AWS210. The package usually holds rubber tires, clear parts for the windows and the lights, chrome-plated details and a decal sheet. The model is meant to be assembled and painted.
The Toyota Crown is a traditional Japanese luxury sedan with a long history. The GRS214/AWS210 generation offered a striking radiator grille and a more sportingly tuned Athlete trim, and the AWS210 version had a hybrid drivetrain. The car was aimed at demanding customers in the Japanese home market.
Glue the parts with liquid cement for plastic, spray the body over a filler primer and polish the finish. The masking templates included for the windows will make accurate painting of the frames easier. The chrome and interior details come to life with contrasting shades and a fine wash.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
