An injection-molded plastic kit of a commercial vehicle in 1:24 scale from the Japanese firm Aoshima. The subject is the Toyota Hiace of the 200 series generation, in the type designation TRH200V, in the 2007 version adapted as a vehicle for dealing with the aftermath of traffic accidents. In Japan such vehicles go out to accident sites, secure the scene, direct traffic and carry equipment. The exact contents of the package and the scope of the decal sheet are stated on the packaging.
The Hiace is among the most widespread Japanese commercial vans and the 200 series generation was built in many lengths, widths and equipment levels. The layout with the engine under the front seats gives the vehicle a short nose and a large cargo space while keeping its external dimensions relatively small. That is exactly what made it a usual base for service and response configurations, which differ from an ordinary van in their bodies, warning equipment and company or service livery.
The body of a van is one large flat surface on which every irregularity and every speck of dust in the paint shows. It therefore pays to spray in a clean space, in thin coats, and to sand the surface lightly between coats. The clear parts of the warning equipment stand out when you back them with silver paint from the inside and leave them clear on the outside. The large windows mean the interior will be clearly visible, so it pays to at least basically shade the seats and the dashboard. Apply the livery onto a gloss base and once it has dried, seal it with varnish so that the edge does not shine.
