The Toyota 86 is a small sports coupe with rear-wheel drive, listed under the factory chassis code ZN6. It arose in cooperation with Subaru and is powered by a flat four-cylinder engine mounted at the front, that is an engine with opposed cylinders, which fitted into the car low and helps keep the center of gravity near the ground. The car was also sold under other names in various markets, but technically it is the same type. The designation in the name refers to the 2016 model year configuration.

On the body of a modern car the surface decides more than the number of parts. So it pays to wash the parts in lukewarm water with detergent before painting and to let them dry properly, so that the paint holds. Sand the parting edges and the moldings left by production back gradually with several grades and polish the area, because gloss paint brings out every scratch. Apply the paint in thin coats and let them dry in between; the last coat is better sprayed over with clear varnish than painted over. Fit the glazing and the chrome parts only at the very end and glue them with a cement intended for clear parts, so that the surface is not fogged.
