An injection-molded plastic kit from the Japanese manufacturer Aoshima in 1:24 scale. The real subject is the Toyota 86 with the internal chassis designation ZN6 in the form of the 2012 model year, that is, from the first series of this car. Aoshima is among the leading Japanese makers of car kits and its kits of domestic cars are known for a good match of the shapes of the body and for a richly detailed interior.
The Toyota 86 is a sports coupe that came about in cooperation between Toyota and Subaru and reached the market in 2012. In parallel it was sold as the Subaru BRZ as well. The car consciously returned to the classic recipe: the engine at the front, rear-wheel drive, low weight and a low-set flat (boxer) four-cylinder engine that lowers the center of gravity. The aim was not maximum power but handling and the fun of driving, which quickly made the 86 a popular car for track days as well as for drifting. The designation 86 refers to the legendary Toyota Corolla Levin AE86 of the 1980s.
The body of a modern sports car is sold above all by a quality finish. It pays to sand the surface carefully, spray a primer and apply the color in thin layers with an airbrush. At the end add a gloss clear coat and possibly polish it - on a car with smooth areas every irregularity is visible. Build and paint the interior completely before closing the body. Glue the transparent parts (lights, windows) with glue intended for clear plastics so that no fogging occurs. Apply the decals onto a gloss base and seal them with a matte or semi-matte varnish according to the character of the part.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
