This is a decal sheet, not a model. It makes it possible to transfer a camouflage pattern straight onto a body, instead of laboriously spraying it through masks. The pattern is angular, splinter in modeling parlance, and combines black with gray into an urban-flavored scheme. The 1:24 scale corresponds to ordinary car kits. The dimensions of the sheet and the number of individual motifs are given on the packaging.
The base must be smooth and gloss, as on matte paint a visible silvery film is left under a decal. Spray a gloss varnish first, therefore. Cut the sheet to the shape of the part, soak each piece in warm water and let it stand until the backing moves freely. Slide the decal into place, draw the excess water off with absorbent paper and use a softener, so that the film is drawn down to the edges and the pressings. Once it is completely dry, varnish over it with a matte or semi-gloss varnish, which hides the edges of the decal completely.
The body of a car model is full of double curves and a decal behaves differently on them than on a flat surface. On fenders, pillars and the transitions of the hood it pays to divide a motif into two smaller pieces and to lead the joint where an edge or a trim strip will hide it from view. Cut overhangs beyond the edges of a part away only once it is dry, with a sharp scalpel and drawing from the edge inward. If you are building a car with opening doors or hood, apply the pattern only after a trial assembly, so that the individual parts follow on from one another.
