An injection-molded plastic kit of the first-generation Volkswagen Golf in the sporting GTI version in 1:24 scale from the manufacturer Fujimi. The package holds the body, the chassis, the interior, clear glazing and decals. The Golf I GTI is regarded as the car that founded the class of sporting hatchbacks for the ordinary driver.
The Volkswagen Golf I was introduced in the mid-1970s as the successor to the Beetle and quickly became a bestseller. The GTI version added a more powerful fuel-injected gasoline engine, a sportier chassis and distinctive details such as the red trim around the grille and the checkered upholstery. Compact, light and nimble, the car defined the term hot hatch.
Spray the body over primer and polish a gloss coat under the decals; the typical finishes are strong single colors. Use liquid cement for plastic and clean the flash off the parts. Glue the glazing with a cement for clear parts; matte varnish and fine shading will bring the interior to life. Pick out the small black trim strips and the grille with precise masking.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
