A plastic kit of the Toyota Celica XX in 1:24 scale from the Japanese manufacturer Fujimi, this time as the Red Ver. — the red variant from the edition devoted to the series Yoroshiku Mecha-doc, a cult Japanese tuning manga of the 1980s. Alongside this version Fujimi also offers the basic release of the Celica XX in the same edition; the red variant differs in its treatment according to the name.
Celica XX is the designation under which the coupe known in the rest of the world as the Celica Supra was sold on the Japanese market. The lengthened nose hid inline six-cylinder engines, the equipment aimed at fast comfortable travel, and the boxy design with pop-up headlights is today among the most characteristic shapes of the Japanese 1980s. In the tuning culture that the manga captures, the Celica XX was a rewarding basis for modifications.
With the red version we recommend spraying over a light, ideally white or pink base — the red will then be rich and even. Apply the gloss clear coat only once the paint has dried thoroughly. The boxy shapes make masking easier, and the chrome and black trim should be finished off with a brush at the end.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
