This Aviattic decal sheet in 1:28 scale brings the full-width five-color polygon pattern made for the lower surfaces of models of First World War aircraft. The factory fresh variant matches new fabric in rich factory colors, as freshly covered machines received it.
German camouflage fabric was printed in two tonal series: the upper surfaces were covered by darker, bolder shades, while the lower sides of the wings and the fuselage carried a lighter, paler set, which lost the machine optically against the sky. This sheet reproduces precisely that lower light series in a five-color version with fine transitions between the polygons. On a model you thus achieve the correct contrast between the upper and lower side of the machine, which is characteristic of German aircraft of this period.
The lower surfaces of the wings tend to be intricate — lay the decal down strip by strip according to the ribs, onto a gloss base and with a softener. The light shades come out well on a white or light gray base; once dry, seal the whole with varnish and add a fine accent on the ribs if you wish.
The sheet is an add-on to a model — neither the kit nor varnishes are included in the package.
