A resin cockpit set in 1:32 scale from the Czech manufacturer Aires. The set corresponds to the cockpit of the A-7D Corsair II version and serves to raise the detail of a plastic kit. This is not an aircraft model but a detail accessory that replaces the cockpit tub of a kit with more faithfully worked parts: the instrument panel, the side panels, the stick and the seat. The package is usually complemented by fine photo-etched components.
The A-7D was the land-based attack version of the Corsair II operated by the US Air Force. It differed from the naval version above all in its powerplant, its armament and part of its avionics, which was reflected in the arrangement of the cockpit as well. It was a subsonic attack aircraft able to carry a considerable weapons load.
Wash the mold release agent off the parts, cut off the casting blocks and clean up the surfaces with respiratory protection. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Before gluing it into the fuselage, check the fit with the particular kit. Spray the cockpit with a base color first and bring out the details with a dark wash and a dry brush.
The resin set is an accessory for a plastic kit, which is not part of the package. Glue, paints and the model itself are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
