Responsibility details are not available.
A decal sheet from the British manufacturer Kits-World in 1:32 scale, devoted to a particular Boeing B-17G machine in the production subseries G-20-VE, connected with the Molesworth airfield in England and the year 1944. It is not a kit but a standalone set of markings for completing a model. The designation Idaliza is the name painted on the fuselage of the aircraft in question. The exact extent of the sheet and the assignment to a unit are shown by the illustration on the packaging, and we recommend going through it before buying.
The Boeing B-17G was the final main production version of the four-engine Flying Fortress bomber. From the previous forms it differed above all in the powered position with a pair of barrels under the glazed nose, in the reworked waist gun positions and in details of the covers. The letter in the subseries designation refers to the plant in which the machine was built. The name painted on the nose is a period painting on a particular aircraft; with units deployed from English bases this was widespread practice.
The fuselage of the B-17 is markedly rounded in the places under the cockpit and around the gun positions, and it is exactly there that the largest part of the markings sits. Lay the decal on a film of water and let it settle into the shape by itself; never force it, because it will tear. On a double curvature it helps to warm the surface with hot water on a brush and smooth the area gradually from the highest point downward. Small creases that form at the edge can be pierced with the point of a knife once dry and smoothed again.
The package contains decals only. The kit, paints and glue are not part of it.
