A sheet of waterslide decals in 1:32 scale from the British manufacturer Xtradecal, focused on the servicing and maintenance markings of BAe Hawk T.1 trainers. These are the small placards that on a real aircraft serve the ground crew: the labeling of access panels, filler points, warning zones and servicing points. The package is an accessory for a model and contains no plastic parts.
The BAe Hawk is a British two-seat single-engined aircraft for advanced pilot training. It is precisely on trainers that servicing markings tend to be plentiful, because a large number of people handle the aircraft and the demands on operational safety are high. In the large 1:32 scale this lettering is easy to read and its absence shows on a finished model, as a bare surface looks incomplete.
With small lettering the soaking is what decides. Use lukewarm water, around room temperature or a little warmer; hot water releases the adhesive too quickly and the film starts to curl before you can transfer it. Dip the decal for only a few seconds and then let it rest on a paper backing, as the adhesive goes on softening out of the water as well and the film releases from the base by itself. You can tell by the fact that it will shift under a fingernail without resistance. Leaving items in the water for a long time is the most common mistake: the adhesive washes out and the decal then does not hold. Prepare only as many pieces as you can place before they dry.
