A detailing accessory from the Japanese brand Top Studio for models of racing cars in 1:12 scale. It is not a kit of a car, but a set for fitting one assembly of a model: the connection points of the electrical wiring on the engine, in the cockpit and on the frame. The figure of 2.6 mm is the diameter of the connector, not the scale.
When to reach for the thicker diameter
A real racing car does not have wiring of a uniform thickness. The main bundles running from the control unit and from the engine are noticeably more substantial than the branches to the individual sensors. The 2.6 mm diameter is therefore intended for places where a run is to be the most prominent. A combination of two or three diameters on one model gives the engine bay a depth that uniform wire will never reach.
First degrease the metal parts and check whether they have burrs left by machining; remove any with a fine file or a sanding sponge. For gluing use super glue (cyanoacrylate) applied in a minimal amount with the tip of a wire. Try the run dry first, check that it passes around the radiators and the suspension and only then glue it permanently. If you are going to paint the connectors, use a primer intended for metal, otherwise the paint will chip off during handling. The metallic look can be left and only fine-tuned with a dark wash.
This is an accessory to a plastic kit. The kit, glue, paints and wiring are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
