The Xtradecal 1:32 BAe Hawk T.1/T.1A decal sheet offers markings for British trainers in both of the versions named. It is an accessory for a model, not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A sheet of waterslide decals in 1:32 scale from the British manufacturer Xtradecal, intended for models of BAe Hawk trainers in the T.1 and T.1A versions. The set is an accessory for a model under way or finished; it contains neither plastic parts nor other components of a kit.
The Hawk is a British two-seat subsonic aircraft with a single turbojet, designed for advanced pilot training. The basic version in service was the T.1; some of the machines then went through a modification to the T.1A standard, which allowed them to carry armament and widened their usefulness. Both versions served for decades and in that time went through several finishes and forms of marking, which makes the Hawk a rewarding subject for modelers who want to build the same type repeatedly and differently each time.
Preparing the base is what decides. The decal has to lie on a smooth gloss varnish; on a matte or grainy surface a thin layer of air remains under the carrier film and the markings get the characteristic gray border known as silvering. If it happens even so, it usually helps to prick the film carefully at the border with the point of a scalpel and let a drop of softener run into the puncture. Lay the soaked decal onto a surface slightly dampened with water and a trace of detergent, while it can still be moved. Only once it is completely dry should you go over the model with a varnish that seals the decals and unifies the sheen with the surroundings.
The package contains decals only. The kit, paints, glue and varnishes are not included, unless stated otherwise.
