Eduard 1:32 Curtiss P-40N Kittyhawk landing flaps — a photo-etched set of landing flaps for the model of the American P-40N fighter in 1:32 scale from the Czech manufacturer Eduard.
Responsibility details are not available.
This photo-etched set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard replaces the simplified plastic landing flaps of the model of the Curtiss P-40N Kittyhawk in 1:32 scale with photo-etched parts worked out in detail. The assembled flaps have a faithful internal structure with ribs and skin, so you can present the model with the flaps in the lowered position, exactly as the machines often stood on field airstrips.
The Curtiss P-40N Warhawk (Kittyhawk in British and Australian designation) was the most numerously produced late version of this American fighter. The lightened airframe with the V12 Allison V-1710 engine served above all in the Pacific, China and Burma, where the P-40 gained a reputation as a tough and reliable machine even in demanding field conditions.
Separate the parts with a sharp knife on a hard surface and clean the edges up with a fine file. For precise bends of the long ribs of the flaps a photo-etch bender pays off. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue applied in small doses with a pin; before painting, degrease the parts and spray them with primer, as paint otherwise holds badly on metal.
This is a supplementary photo-etched set; the base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
