The Dassault Mirage 2000D is a French combat aircraft with a delta wing, derived from the single-seat Mirage 2000 series and adapted for attacks on ground targets. The crew consists of two men sitting one behind the other, with the weapon systems operator at the rear. The delta wing without horizontal tail surfaces gives the machine an unmistakable silhouette and at the same time means extensive trailing-edge areas with a number of covers and flaps that can be worked up in detail on a large model.

The 1:32 scale is large, so even small things stand out on the model: the fittings and buckles of the belts, placards, grilles, raised panels and the thin edges of covers. These are exactly the places where injection-molded plastic runs into its own thickness and metal is visibly more faithful. The individual parts are held on the fret by small tabs that they are cut from. The extent of the set, the position of the parts and the kit the set is cut for are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
Use a sharp blade and a hard surface to separate the parts, as cutters would ripple the sheet. Remove the remains of a tab with a fine file. Make the folds over a bending tool or over the edge of a steel rule, so that they are crisp and exactly on the scored line. They are attached with super glue or with two-part epoxy. Before painting, wash and degrease the metal and use a primer, or the finished coat will rub off during handling.
