A resin set of wheels for a kit of the modern European Eurofighter multirole fighter in 1:32 scale. The name marks the early form of the wheel with weighted tires. The set replaces the landing gear parts from the base kit; it is not a model of the aircraft or a conversion set.
The landing gear of a present-day combat aircraft carries a high weight on relatively small wheels, so the deformation of the tire while standing on a surface is marked and clearly legible on a model. An injection-molded wheel from the box, by contrast, is perfectly round and the finished machine looks as if it were hovering a millimeter above the base. A weighted casting evens that difference out. The early form of the hub also matches the earlier series and differs from the later wheels, which the manufacturer keeps under other items.
Wash the castings in lukewarm water with detergent, otherwise the base coat will not hold. Cut the casting block off with a fine-toothed saw and level the surface with abrasive paper wet. Before gluing, try the seating on the fork dry and watch that the sag of the tire points straight down and that all the wheels touch the base at the same time. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue. Finish the tire in a matte dark gray and the hub in a lighter shade according to the scheme; a fine dusting of dirt on the lower edge settles the wheel into the setting of an airfield.
The set is an accessory for a kit, not a model in its own right. It is supplied unpainted; glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
