The Eduard photo-etched set for the M108 105mm/L30 in 1:35 scale adds fine metal details that injection-molded plastic can only suggest in simplified form. It is not a kit but an accessory for a model of the American self-propelled howitzer.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is NOT a kit but a set of photo-etched metal parts from the Czech manufacturer Eduard. It serves to detail a plastic model of the M108 self-propelled howitzer in 1:35 scale. The parts replace or supplement features that can only be molded coarsely in plastic: grilles, loops, brackets, fittings, small levers and flat reinforcements. The result is a more faithful and finer surface than the kit alone offers.
The M108 was an American fully tracked 105 mm self-propelled howitzer of the 1960s, built on a light chassis shared with the related 155 mm howitzer. It was marked by a rotating turret with a wide field of traverse and an aluminum hull, which reduced the weight. It entered service in limited numbers and in time more powerful calibers replaced it.
Carefully separate the parts from the fret with a sharp knife directly on a hard surface, and form the folds in a photo-etch bending tool or between two blades. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue); on larger areas a slower two-part epoxy helps, as it gives time to position them. Before painting, degrease the photo-etched metal and apply a primer for metal.
The set is an accessory, not a model. The plastic kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
