A figure of a pilot of the First World War in 1:32 scale, intended for the German as well as the Austro-Hungarian air service.
Responsibility details are not available.
The pilots of the first combat airplanes sat in open cockpits, where in flight they put up with temperatures far below freezing. That is why a long leather coat, a leather helmet, goggles and high boots belonged to their appearance. The kit of the German and the Austro-Hungarian air service agreed in much, so the same figure stands up for both sides; you will set the details apart by painting and by any accessory.
It is a figure in 1:32 scale, that is, in the size in which most models of First World War airplanes are built. An adult figure measures roughly 5.5 cm in this scale, so the face and the folds of the clothing are easy to read and it pays off to play them out in color. The number of pieces in the package, the material, and whether the figure is divided into several parts, the name does not specify; you will find those details in the manufacturer's description and instructions.
Before painting, wash the surface in lukewarm water with a drop of dish soap and let it dry out properly, as grease from the fingers shows up under paint as matte patches. Mix the leather of the coats toward a grayish brown rather than toward rust, as new leather kit soon got dirty in the field. Build the face up in thin coats and let the shadows settle into the eye sockets and under the chin.
It suits modelers of First World War airplanes who want to build a model with a crew or a small scene by an airplane. Paints, glue and a base are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
