1:32 Gotha G.IV

HGW masking set – Gotha G.IV (1:32)

A set of HGW self-adhesive masks for a model of the German heavy bomber Gotha G.IV in 1:32 scale. It is neither a model nor a decal — these are pre-cut masks that are stuck onto the parts, oversprayed with paint and peeled off once dry. That gives you sharp edges of the markings and the glazing with none of the thickness of a decal.

The real subject

The Gotha G.IV was a German twin-engine heavy bomber of the First World War. It became famous for the raids on Britain in 1917 and was among the first aircraft capable of strategic bombing over long distances.

Use

• Separate the mask, stick it onto a clean surface and press the edges down carefully.
• Apply the paint in thin coats so that it does not creep under the film.
• Once the paint has set, carefully peel the mask off.

Who it is for

• For modelers who prefer spraying the markings and the glazing to using decals.
• For large models, where clean edges and a scale thickness of paint stand out.

The masking set is an aftermarket accessory. The model itself, paints and glue are not included in the package.
