A set of masks for spraying the camouflage scheme onto a model of the Hawker Hurricane Mk.I in 1:32 scale. Drawn for the FLY kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Hawker Hurricane Mk.I was a British single-seat fighter with the Rolls-Royce Merlin engine, a V12. It entered squadron service before the Second World War. The upper surfaces carried a two-color camouflage with crisp boundaries between the shades, and it is precisely the exact drawing of those boundaries that gives a modeler the most work.
A set of masks for spraying the camouflage scheme of a Hawker Hurricane Mk.I model in 1:32 scale. The masks are drawn for the kit from the FLY brand, so the shapes of the parts match its outlines. The extent of the set and the layout of the masks are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
The masks are stuck onto the model before spraying, on a dry, clean and degreased surface. Work from the lighter shade: spray the whole area with the lighter color first, let it dry thoroughly and only then stick the masks on and apply the darker shade. Press the edges of the masks down carefully so that the paint cannot run underneath, and spray at right angles to the edge, not at an angle under it. Apply the paint in thin coats; a thick coat builds a step at the edge that shows once the mask comes off. Take the masks off while the paint has only just dried, and pull them back over themselves rather than straight away from the surface.
The set suits modelers who are building the Hurricane Mk.I in 1:32 scale and want the camouflage boundaries to match the real aircraft, without cutting masks to a template of their own.
The kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
