What the sheet offers

A decal sheet from the Kitsworld brand for models in 1:32 scale, listed under the designation Jaguars. A list of the artwork is included in the package, and from it you can judge whether the sheet matches the kit you are building.

How to apply the decals

Before you soak the sheet, check in the instructions whether it is a self-adhesive version, because a soaked self-adhesive film is ruined beyond repair. With the usual wet version the procedure is as follows:

• give the area under the decal a coat of gloss clear, because silvering forms on a matte surface
• cut the artwork out as close to the print as possible
• dip it in lukewarm water for a few seconds and let it rest on a paper towel until the film releases
• slide the decal from the backing into place, move it with a brush and blot off the excess water
• on a broken-up surface use decal softener and, once dry, give the whole thing a matte clear coat

Work tips

In 1:32 scale the artwork is large, and so every unevenness of the surface and every trapped bubble shows on it. Lay a larger decal from one edge and press the water out from under it with a soft cloth or a cotton bud from the center toward the edges. Do not hurry to take it off the backing before the film releases by itself, otherwise it will tear. Let the decals dry out properly before any further clear coating.
