This set from the Czech maker Eduard brings photo-etched parts of thin sheet for detailing the landing flaps of the Curtiss Kittyhawk fighter in its Mk. I and Mk. III versions in 1:32 scale. It is not an airplane kit but an accessory for the base plastic model.
The photo-etched parts make it possible to show the landing flaps in the lowered position and to replace the simplified plastic sections with a faithful structure of ribs, stiffeners and skins. A model thus gains a realistic view into the inner structure of the wing.
Separate the parts with a sharp blade, form the bends over a metal bending tool and glue with super glue or epoxy. Plan the flap assembly with the plastic wing parts in mind, and degrease the sheet before painting.
This is an add-on set, not a stand-alone model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
