This resin detail set from Aires in 1:32 scale brings a faithful Lockheed C-2 ejection seat. It is not an airplane model but a resin accessory for a kit, which replaces the simplified seat from the base kit. It is a different seat type from the Martin-Baker GQ-7A, so it is a separate product. The set is intended for more experienced modelers and is supplied as a resin casting to be assembled and painted.
The Lockheed C-2 is the original ejection seat used in a number of F-104 Starfighter aircraft, later replaced by a more modern type by some users. A faithfully rendered seat with its safety harness and survival equipment is one of the most conspicuous details of an open cockpit.
Wash the mold release residue off the parts, separate the casting blocks carefully and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Wear respiratory protection while sanding. The seat comes out well with matte shades, a harness in contrasting colors, a wash into the recesses and a fine dry brush on the edges.
The detail set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
