The MiG-23 is a Soviet fighter with a variable-geometry wing. The set of wheels aims at the versions designated S, M, MS, MF, U and UB, that is both the single-seat combat machines and the two-seat training form. On a model the wheels are among the most attractive places, because they are always on show and the viewer notices their shape and the definition of the hub straight away.
These are replacement wheels for a model in 1:32 scale, which replace the out-of-the-box parts. The number of pieces and the division into hubs and tires are given in the manufacturer's instructions. In 1:32 scale the landing gear is large and clearly visible, so more careful workmanship on the wheels tells in the result.
Cut the excess material off a short way from the part with a sharp blade and sand the remainder until the seating surface sits square on the landing gear axle. Wash and degrease the parts before painting. Choose the glue according to the material of the parts and go by the manufacturer's instructions; replacement parts are usually attached to a plastic landing gear with cyanoacrylate. Paint the hub and the tire separately; the boundary between them calls for fine masking or careful brush work.
The set is for modelers who want to refine the landing gear on a large model. The aircraft model, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
