This item is not a kit of the aircraft but an accessory for one. It contains photo-etched metal parts intended for the external parts of a model of the North American B-25H Mitchell bomber in 1:32 scale from the Czech manufacturer Eduard. The point of photo-etch is to replace molded plastic shapes, which are always thicker than reality would call for. Covers, grilles, panels, steps and small fittings in metal look considerably more convincing once painted. The particular contents of the package and the number of parts are stated on the box.
The North American B-25 Mitchell was a twin-engine medium bomber with a twin vertical tail and a wide range of employment in the Second World War. The B-25H version was among the attack forms, with heavy gun armament in the nose and a single-pilot cockpit. In the large 1:32 scale the model is sizeable and the surface of the airframe is seen on it from close up, so refining the external details tells very markedly in the result.
Cut the parts off with a scalpel on glass or on a hard surface, not by breaking them away. Make the folds in a photo-etch bender, or between two razor blades. Before gluing, sand the original molded detail off the plastic, so that the photo-etched part seats flush. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue applied with a pin, genuinely in drops. Always lay a base coat under bare metal, otherwise the top coat peels. Large photo-etched areas on the fuselage are best weighted down lightly after being stuck on, until the glue has cured.
