Photo-etched seat belts for American fighters of the Second World War in 1:32 scale from the firm AML. A fine photo-etched accessory that brings a cockpit interior to life.
Responsibility details are not available.
This set holds fine photo-etched metal seat belts matching the types used by the pilots of American fighters during the Second World War. It is not an aircraft model but a detail accessory intended to raise the realism of an open cockpit. The manufacturer is the Czech firm AML.
Molded plastic belts tend to be flat and without detail. Photo-etched belts with faithfully rendered buckles and fittings replace the kit parts and look far more convincing in an open cockpit or with the canopy slid back. The set tends to be sized for fitting out the interior of one fighter.
Separate the parts carefully from the fret with a sharp knife, shape them with tweezers and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue. The belts can be bent and left to drape naturally over the edges of the seat. As needed, fine-tune the shade of the belts and the fittings with paint or a light wash.
This is an accessory, not a model. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
