Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IX Floatplane 1:72 from Brengun - an injection-molded plastic kit of the unusual floatplane version of the legendary British fighter, with photo-etched parts and decals.
Responsibility details are not available.
This injection-molded plastic kit in 1:72 scale captures the floatplane version of the Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IX fighter. The package contains plastic parts, a clear canopy part, a set of photo-etched parts and waterslide decals. It is a short-run model of an unusual variant, attractive to collectors.
The Spitfire was a British single-seat fighter with a Rolls-Royce Merlin V12 engine. The floatplane version was created as an experimental solution for operating from water: operations from the Norwegian fjords were considered at first, and later the Mediterranean and the Aegean islands. The floatplane never entered regular service; only a prototype, or rather a small batch, flew.
Use liquid cement for plastic and glue the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate. Apply a primer before painting; an airbrush is ideal. Pay attention to seating the floats and their struts accurately, so that the model stands square.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
