A set of cast resin figures intended for filling the two-seat cockpit of a model of the T-28 Trojan trainer and light combat airplane in 1:32 scale. According to the name it holds two figures, a pilot and an instructor, together with seats. It is neither an airplane kit nor a finished model: you get unpainted castings to complete.
On a two-seat airplane an empty rear cockpit is just as visible as the front one, and a model without a crew looks unfinished. A pair of figures fills both places, gives the model scale and at the same time suggests a training or observation flight. A resin casting holds the sharp edges of the kit and the folds of a flying suit better than injected plastic.
The T-28 Trojan was an American single-engined propeller airplane with tandem seats, used for the basic and advanced training of pilots. In further versions it also found use as a light ground attack airplane in Southeast Asia, where its ruggedness and its ability to operate from simple airfields were valued.
Wash the castings in lukewarm water with dish soap so that the release agent from the mold disappears. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw, sand the surfaces with breathing protection and join the parts with super glue. Apply a primer before painting. Build the skin up in layers from a darker base; the flying suit is helped by a wash into the folds and a fine lightening of the edges. Leave the helmets and goggles until the end, as a small gleam on the glass of the goggles brings a figure to life.
The figures are supplied unassembled and unpainted, as resin castings. Paints, glue and a model of the airplane are not included in the package.
