The package holds a resin figure of a US Air Force pilot and, with it, a seat matching the O-2 observation and forward air control aircraft. It is not an aircraft kit but an accessory that fills an empty cockpit and gives a model scale. Resin holds the sharp folds of the clothing and the details of the equipment that would blend together in injection-molded plastic at this scale.
The Cessna O-2 was the military version of a twin-engined civil aircraft with a tandem engine arrangement, in which one propeller pulls at the front and the other pushes at the rear. The aircraft served for observation, liaison and forward air control, that is duties carried out at low altitude and low speed, where the crew is clearly visible behind large areas of glazing. That is precisely why an occupied cockpit shows more on a model of the O-2 than on fighters with a narrow canopy.
Wash the figure and the seat in lukewarm soapy water and clear them of the casting blocks, which are usually under the feet and on the underside of the seat pan. First seat the seat dry in the cockpit, and only then try the figure, so that it sits naturally and does not foul the instrument panel or the controls. Glue resin with super glue and spray a primer before painting. Build the skin up in thin layers from a darker base toward the lighter areas and paint the eyes with the finest brush you have; in 1:32 scale even the direction of the gaze is visible. Bring out the folds of the clothing with a thinned wash and close the whole with matte clear coat, leaving a little sheen only on the equipment.
The figure is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The aircraft model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
