A turned metal barrel of a 170 mm anti-tank gun for a model of the German Jagdpanzer E-100 tank destroyer in 1:35 scale. It replaces the plastic part from the kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Jagdpanzer E-100 is one of the German design proposals from the end of the Second World War. It grew out of the chassis of the heavy E-100 series and was to carry an anti-tank gun of exceptional caliber in a fixed superstructure without a rotating turret. The machine never entered service, so modelers build it as a project subject in which the main impression is made precisely by the long barrel reaching far out in front of the nose.
A turned metal barrel of a 170 mm anti-tank gun in 1:35 scale. Metal holds its shape, the barrel stays straight and the muzzle is really drilled out, so the drilling of the muzzle and the sanding of the marks from manufacture that a plastic part carries both fall away. On a part of such length that tells most, because every bend is visible on the finished model at first glance.
Cut the plastic barrel off according to the instructions of the kit and level the cut face with a file into a square plane, otherwise the metal barrel will point to one side. Try the seating dry and only then glue it, with super glue or epoxy; glue for polystyrene does not hold on metal. Before painting, wash the metal, degrease it with alcohol and go over it with a primer for metal, so that the paint has something to grip. It pays to darken the muzzle of the barrel at the very end, with a fine soot shade.
The kit, paints and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
