A plastic kit of the British 57 mm anti-tank gun, known under the designation 6 Pounder, completed by figures of a British and Allied crew. Besides the injection-molded plastic parts the package also holds photo-etched metal for the fine details. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted and is an ideal basis for a diorama, because the gun and the crew make up one complete scene.
The 6 Pounder was a British 57 mm anti-tank gun that during the Second World War replaced the weaker preceding type and became the main anti-tank weapon of the British and Allied units in the middle phase of the conflict. It was made from the beginning of the 1940s and, besides the field towed form, its derived versions were built into the turrets of armored vehicles as well. The gun was carried towed behind a vehicle, was spread out into its firing position on the splayed trail legs of the carriage and was worked by the crew from behind the cover of the gun shield.
The carriage and the barrel have a great many small parts, so build according to the order in the instructions and let the individual subassemblies cure properly. Bend the photo-etched parts in a bender and glue them with super glue. Spray both the gun and the figures with a primer, then apply the base shade with an airbrush. With the figures, painting with a brush with gradual lightening of the folds of the uniforms and fine shading of the faces proves itself. At the end add a wash into the hollows, chipping on the edge of the shield and dust on the lower parts of the carriage, so that the gun fits into the terrain of the base.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
