Aber 1:35 turned metal armament set for the Tiger I tank in its early version: an 88 mm gun barrel and machine gun barrels. A detail accessory that replaces the plastic parts, not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
This detail set from the Polish maker Aber brings turned metal armament for a model of the German Tiger I heavy tank in its early version, in 1:35 scale. It replaces the plastic barrel of the 88 mm tank gun, including the distinctive muzzle brake, and the barrels of the 7.92 mm machine guns. It is not a vehicle kit but an accessory. The metal parts do away with the mold seam, hold a perfectly straight axis and an accurate taper, and offer a faithful muzzle that in plastic can only be reached by laborious drilling.
The Tiger I was a German heavy tank of the Second World War, armed with an 88 mm tank gun derived from an anti-aircraft gun. Together with thick frontal armor this made it a feared opponent, although the demands of production and its weight limited both numbers and mobility. Early examples differed from later ones in a number of details, among them the design of the muzzle brake, the stowage layout on the hull and the type of turret cupola. It is exactly these early machines that the set is aimed at.
Glue the metal parts with cyanoacrylate glue, and use two-part epoxy on the larger mating surfaces. Degrease them with alcohol or isopropyl alcohol beforehand and roughen the surfaces slightly. Paint only once a primer for metal has been laid down. The long barrel is the most exposed part of the model, so handle the vehicle by the hull. Pick out the muzzle brake and the muzzle with a light sooting of pigment, and the barrel can be brought further to life by rubbing the paint gently with the edge of a hard pencil.
This is a detail accessory, not a kit. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
