An additional photo-etched set from the Polish manufacturer Aber focused on the fenders of the Sd.Kfz. 251/1 half-track carrier, version D. The thin metal fenders replace the thicker plastic parts and look more realistic on the model. The package does not hold the model itself. The exact content of the frets differs from one set of this kind to another.
The Sd.Kfz. 251 was a German half-track armored personnel carrier of the Second World War, nicknamed the Hanomag after its maker. The late Ausf. D version had a simplified welded hull with straight sides. The 251/1 variant served as the standard infantry carrier.
Take the fenders carefully out of the sheet and shape them on a bending tool or along a steel ruler to follow the outline of the hull. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). The paint holds better after degreasing and a coat of primer; thin photo-etched sheet will take only light sanding.
This is an accessory, not a complete model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
