A turned metal 8.8 cm KwK 43 L/71 barrel for the Tiger II with the Henschel turret in 1:35 scale from Aber. An accurate metal accessory that replaces the plastic barrel.
Responsibility details are not available.
This product is a turned metal barrel for the German 8.8 cm KwK 43 L/71 tank gun, in the form for the Tiger II heavy tank with the Henschel turret, in 1:35 scale. It is not a kit of the vehicle but a metal detail accessory. Turned metal captures the long slender barrel and the double-baffle muzzle brake exactly and does away with the parting seam that long plastic barrels have.
The 8.8 cm KwK 43 gun with its L/71 barrel was the main armament of the Tiger II (Königstiger) heavy tank. It was one of the most effective tank weapons of the Second World War, with great range and penetrating power. The Henschel turret was the production form with a flat front face.
The barrel is glued with cyanoacrylate glue. On long barrels the advantage of metal is that it does not bend and holds a perfect axis. We recommend seating the metal part in the mantlet so that it is flush, and degreasing it before painting.
This is a metal detail accessory, not a standalone model. The base kit of the tank is not included in the package.
