The turned Aber 1:35 barrel of 8.8 cm KwK 43 L/71 caliber is a metal replacement for the plastic barrel of a model of the Tiger II tank with the Henschel turret. It is an accessory for a kit, not a standalone model.

A metal barrel in 1:35 from the Polish firm Aber for a model of the German Tiger II heavy tank with the so-called Henschel turret, that is the production turret of later manufacture. It is not a kit: it is a replacement part. A barrel 71 calibers long is among the most noticeable features on this machine and at the same time among those where the plastic part is weakest: a long thin component warps in the mold, carries a parting line over its whole length and the muzzle is only suggested. Machined metal solves all three problems at once.
The Tiger II, also designated Königstiger, was a German heavy tank deployed from 1944. It was marked by heavily sloped frontal armor and a long gun of 8.8 cm KwK 43 caliber with a barrel length of 71 calibers, which had a high muzzle velocity and good accuracy at long range. The first vehicles built carried a rounded turret with a pronounced bulge for the commander's cupola, which was later replaced by a production turret with a flat front and better ballistic protection; it is for that later turret that the barrel is intended.
Cut the plastic barrel off as close to the mantlet as possible, clean the hole out with a drill bit and try the metal part dry: it must seat without pressure and point straight. It is glued with super glue a drop at a time. Degrease the metal before painting and use a primer for metal. Fit the barrel right at the end of the build; during masking and weathering it is the most exposed part of the model.
This is an accessory, not a standalone model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
