Aber — a barrel for the M85 machine gun of 12.7 mm caliber in 1:35 scale is a turned metal replacement for the plastic barrel for models of the American M60, M728 and LVTP-7.
Responsibility details are not available.
A turned metal barrel in 1:35 scale from the Polish manufacturer Aber, representing the M85 heavy machine gun of 12.7 mm (.50) caliber. It is intended as an upgrade replacement for the plastic part for models of the American equipment on which the M85 was mounted, above all the tanks of the M60 series, the M728 combat engineer vehicle and the LVTP-7 amphibious carrier. It is not a stand-alone model but an accessory.
The M85 machine gun was created in the United States as a successor to the legendary M2 for use in the enclosed commander's cupolas of armored vehicles. Its characteristic short perforated barrel with a prominent muzzle end is among the clearly visible details of the commander's cupola of the M60 and other Cold War machines, which served from the 1960s to the 1990s, in Vietnam and in the Gulf among other places.
Degrease the metal part and glue it with cyanoacrylate glue; thanks to the turning, the perforation of the barrel jacket stays crisp and even, which a plastic molding never fully offers. Paint over a primer; the basis is a semi-flat to flat black with a fine metallic sheen on the edges, for which dry brushing with graphite or a metal pigment works well.
An accessory set; the base vehicle kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
